The 6 Best Decks for New Players (Ranked Easy to Hard)
Whether you’re new to Star Wars Unlimited—or just lost in the Legends of the Force meta—this is your roadmap.
Let’s face it: picking a deck in Star Wars Unlimited right now is like walking into a lightsaber store blindfolded.
The new set, Legends of the Force, introduced some of the most powerful cards we’ve seen so far—but also raised the skill ceiling for many popular decks.
If you're a new or casual player (or even a returning one feeling overwhelmed), this guide is for you.
We’ve ranked 6 of the best decks to play right now—from easiest to most complex—so you can start winning and actually have fun.
🔢 Quick Deck Ranking:
Rank | Leader | Deck Style |
---|---|---|
1 | Han2 Blue | Midrange, Easiest Start |
2 | Vader (Pilot) | Aggro, Easy Pressure |
3 | Quinlan Vos | Control & Discard |
4 | Talzin Red | Midrange Villain |
5 | Cad Bane | Disruption Specialist |
6 | Qi’ra Green | High-Skill Ramp |
🥇 1. Han2 Blue — Your First Deck Should Be This One
If you're brand new to the game, start here.
✅ Forgiving gameplay
✅ Force Throw and Ki-Adi-Mundi for hand advantage
✅ Blue units like Chirrut and Luke create consistent tempo
You’ll learn the basics of curve building, flipping, and value trading—and most importantly, you’ll win games. No gimmicks. Just solid cards doing solid things.
🚀 2. Vader (Pilot) — Fast, Fun, and Teaches Aggro Instincts
If you like hitting the gas, Vader Pilot is your deck.
✅ Pushes early pressure
✅ Dominates the skies with starships
✅ Punishes slow decks
You’ll learn combat math, threat sequencing, and how to capitalize on tempo misplays.
Just watch out—Force Throw can punish your small hand if you overextend.
🧠 3. Quinlan Vos — Control That Teaches Timing & Disruption
Quinlan is your intro to hand control and flip-timing mind games.
✅ Access to Force Throw and Plo Kun
✅ Can set up lethal combos
✅ Slows the game down for smart plays
It’s not the best Force Throw deck anymore, but it’s still a powerful way to learn timing, value trades, and patience.

🩸 4. Talzin Red — Midrange Villain with a Twist
Talzin is the dark mirror of Han2. Instead of overwhelming with draw and Force units, she’s focused on efficient threats and removal.
✅ Tyranus, Assassin, and Force Throw control the board
✅ Free pings from Talzin finish weakened enemies
❌ No Ki-Adi-Mundi, so fewer explosive turns
If you like methodical midrange with powerful turns—this one’s for you.
🐍 5. Cad Bane — Disruption with a High Skill Floor
This deck rewards big-brain sequencing and early-game denial.
✅ Disrupts your opponent’s Force token plan
✅ Forces awkward flips and trading
❌ If your leader gets popped early, it’s game over
Bane doesn’t play Force Throw—but he doesn’t need to. You’ll be too busy breaking your opponent’s tempo.
🧪 6. Qi’ra Green — Flashy but Fragile
Qi’ra is like playing 4D chess with a timer on.
✅ Massive ramp turns
✅ Two viable builds (ECL for ambush, Data Vault for value)
❌ Punishing if you mistime flips or draw the wrong curve
This is not a beginner deck. But if you love a challenge and want to grow into a top-tier pilot, Qi’ra will test and reward your skill.
💡 Final Thought:
If you’re unsure where to start, start with Han2 Blue.
It’s not just good—it’s smart. It teaches the right lessons without punishing misplays. From there, you can level up into Vader, Quinlan, and beyond.
