The TCG Everyone Slept On... Until Now

I just got back from the first official Gundam TCG event since the Beta.
And let me tell you… this game?
It’s not just good—it’s got real momentum behind it.
🚨 The Event: Sold Out Fast
Held at Lone Star Pack Breaks, the event capped at 32 players—but over 50 people registered.
There was even a waitlist to get in. I was lucky enough to snag a spot, and I’m so glad I did.
We played 3 rounds, and I ended with a 2-1 record—not bad for my first real matches since Beta!
(Okay, okay... I played my Round 1 opponent again afterward and won, so let’s call it a technical 3-0, yeah? 😏)
💵 The Bonus Packs Are Wild
Each starter deck came with a 1-card bonus pack featuring an extended-art version of a card from the deck.
Here’s the wild part:
Some of these extended arts are already going for $100+ on the secondary market.
Between the promos, sleeves, and collector value—it’s no wonder people are hyped.
🃏 What I Played: Zeon’s Rush (ST-03)
Players were assigned decks at random, and I ended up with ST-03 Zeon’s Rush, an aggressive go-wide deck that floods the board and applies pressure early.
Once I found my rhythm, I was steamrolling matches. The deck felt tight, fast, and super rewarding.
🔢 Starter Deck Power Rankings (Post-Event Takeaways)
After seeing all four decks in action, here’s how I’d rank them:
🥇 ST-03 Zeon’s Rush
Fast aggro. Beginner-friendly. Snowballs hard—but runs out of steam if you don’t close early.
🥈 ST-01 Heroic Beginning
Midrange with sticky units and strong interaction. Good for players who want options.
🥉 ST-04 SEE Strike
Soft control with lots of blockers and stabilizers. Slower but solid.
🪂 ST-02 Wings of Advance
Ramp into huge finishers—but the hardest to pilot. High ceiling, high risk.
✨ The Vibe Was Fantastic
Lone Star Pack Breaks always delivers, but this event felt special.
The community was welcoming, excited, and helpful—especially to new players.
Bandai supported the event with official promo sleeves, bonus cards, and a format that felt polished and fun.
🚀 What’s Next?
Gundam TCG officially launches on July 25, and I can’t wait for sealed events and full deckbuilding.
This game has the potential to really grow—and I’ll be here every step of the way covering it for you.
