TIPS AND TRICKS

"Before we jump into how this deck plays out in the early rounds, let's go over some tips and tricks on how to maximize Wat Tambor's potential. First, managing your tokens is key. Since we’ll be creating plenty of Battle Droid tokens, you want to use the your droid tokens to attack into your opponent's units or exploit them to turn on Wat Tambor’s ability. Remember that Wat Tambor’s leader ability can give a significant boost to your units. Timing this buff for maximum impact can turn the tide in your favor, so don’t use it too early. Save it for those moments when you know it’ll make the biggest difference in either clearing out an opponent's strong units or setting up a game-winning push.

Also, keep an eye out for synergies with other Separatist units in this deck. Many of these cards work well together to generate more tokens or buff each other. Attack Pattern Delta and MagnaGuard Wing Leader are cards that can help push damage and get ahead of your opponent. Finding the right balance between board control and aggression is crucial to maintaining momentum throughout the game. Now, let’s break down what each of the early rounds should look like."

EARLY GAME STRATEGY ROUNDS

Alright, now that you have a sense of the deck’s strategy, let’s talk through the first few rounds of an ideal game to see this deck in action. Remember, this is just a guideline to help you start strong, so feel free to adapt as you go.

  • Round 1: We want to establish an early board presence, so play Poggle the Lesser or Colonel Yularen and any Separatist unit that costs 2 resources. Poggle the Lesser turns on your Droid manufacturing whereas Colonel Yularen enables restore one for your base.

  • Round 2: Next up, bring in the Emperor's Royal Guard or the Droid Commando. The Emperor's Royal Guard protects your base as it will gain Sentinel. Whereas Droid Command can ambush in taking one of your opponent’s units out (assuming you have a separatist in play). If Droid Commando dies, that is ok. You can now use Wat Tambor’s leader ability to buff your round 1 unit and hit the opponent’s base for damage.

  • Round 3: By round three, use ECL to deploy the Enterprising Lackeys. With a bit of luck, you can even trade with the opponent's leader, giving you a huge tempo swing and reinforcing your board dominance.

  • Round 4: Now, this is where the deck starts to shine. Use Overwhelming Barrage on Enterprising Lackeys to clear any problematic board presence your opponent has. At this point the Enterprising Lackeys are 7/7. Ensure a friendly droid taken was defeated this round. Then activate Wat Tambor’s leader ability buffing your Enterprising Lackeys to 9/9 Then deploy him with an attack trigger to buff your Enterprising Lackeys making them 11/11. With the buffed Lackeys and Wat attacking the base, you are looking to do 14 damage to your opponents base.

  • Rounds 5+: If the game extends beyond round four, begin dropping your larger units. Start using Exploit to capitalize on any openings and close things out. And if you have a significant number of droids on the field, Pyrrhic Assault is a fantastic option to prevent your opponent from clearing your board but great for you to trade into your opponents units!. Keep pushing for those final points of damage until you secure the win!
